CFM organises awareness for coffee growers

As part of “swachhata pakhwada”, the Coffee Board Mokokchung (CFM) organised an awareness programme for coffee growers and their children on November 1 at Khensa Village.
A press release by the senior liaison officer CFM office informed that during the programme, resource person, sanitation inspector (SBM, nodal officer), MMC, Mokokchung, Kilepchiba spoke on waste management.
He said reducing waste would not only protect the environment but would also save on costs to reduce expenses for disposal, which could help reuse or recycle resources.
Kilepchiba also explained that the waste material should be segregated into dry and wet waste and as such the wet waste can be used for composting which in turn can be used for manuring in coffee plantation and the dry waste like paper, plastics, metals to be recycled. During the programme swachhta pledge was also taken; welcome address was delivered by Sentiyangla and vote of thanks by extension inspector, CBM, N Imtisungchit.
