Circular road inaugurated at Dapfütsumia khel

Director of Rural Development, Azenuo Pienyü on Monday inaugurated the Dapfütsumia Khel circular road at Kohima village on Monday.
The fresh road cutting of 2-km within D Khel funded by Rural Development under MGNREGA as priority scheme of Kohima village for Rs 9.57 lakh connects Mechobokou-Seithokha-Kharükou-Kenuokou-Dzülou at D. Khel.
Addressing the inaugural program, Pienyü called for transparency and accountability in all development activities and reminded the gathering to judiciously utilize the funds so that they can share their success stories to others.
She also highlighted on the move of the government of India to make Aadhaar seeding with bank accounts mandatory to ensure direct payment to the beneficiaries of MGNREGA job card holders. In this regard, Pienyü encouraged the Kohima village leaders to compulsorily link their aadhaar card with bank accounts to receive direct benefit transfer into their account.
She also informed the gathering that RD department had recently opened the Farmers Markets at Mariema and Keyakie in Kohima, and therefore encouraged the local farmers to utilize the market for their economic uplift.
The inaugural programme was chaired by D Khel council vice chairman Khriesatuo Keretsü while D Khel council chairman Pelesielie Khezhie extended greetings and Kohima Village VDB secretary Noumvüzolie Sachü delivered the project report.
Vote of thanks was tendered by D Khel Council secretary Ketounei Kire.
