CM, Dy.CM, Dr Jamir condole demise of Michael Yaden

Nagaland chief minister Neiphiu Rio has expressed shock and pain by the passing away of Michael Yaden, former Director of Civil Defence & Commandant General of Home Guards on December 4, 2022 at Chennai.
In a condolence message to Mrs. Bendangla Yaden, Rio recalled that Michael Yaden, during his younger days worked as English News Reader in All India Radio, Kohima Station.
With radio being the most popular media then, Rio said late Michael, because of his soft and commanding voice, became a household name in Nagaland. Later, he joined government’s service, and through merit rose to become Director of Civil Defence & Commandant General of Home Guards, Rio said.
Rio also recalled that during his tenure, the Civil Defence Organisation as well as the Home Guards department got commendable upgradations in terms of manpower and infrastructure developments. He said late Michael took the initiative in raising the State Disaster Response Force by training several batches of policemen from various armed police battalions in the then HG&CD Training Centre a Tulovi.
Describing late Michael Yaden as a very sociable person, warm and affectionate having many friends and acquaintances, and besides being good friends since their youth, Rio said they also shared memorable times together.
Rio said late Michael was an upright and dedicated officer in both official and social circles and his death was a great loss for the people of Nagaland and the vacuum he has left would be difficult to fill. Rio, along with his wife and family, conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the soul to rest in peace.
Dy.CM: Deputy chief minister Y. Patton also condoled the death of Michael Yaden, retired Director and Commandant General CD&HG on Sunday.
Patton said that Nagas have lost an important and dynamic personality and the vacuum created will be difficult to fill. On behalf of the state BJP legislators, Patton conveyed deepest condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed to rest in peace.
Dr SC Jamir: Former governor and chief minister, Dr. SC Jamir expressed shock to learn about the sudden demise of Michael Yaden.
“With his sober disposition he had silently exerted his influence and domain upon his subordinates in discharging his duties and responsibilities as head of the department,” Dr Jamir said.
In his demise, Dr Jamir said that the society has lost a good soul.
“As a human one has to depart one day or the other but one is remembered by the good example in his life time. Michael had measured up to this coveted legacy,” he said.
Dr Jamir along with his wife, conveyed heartfelt condolences to Mrs Bendangla Michael and the bereaved family and prayed that the departed soul rest in peace.
