Coffee Curing Unit inaugurated at Sanis

To promote local coffee, a Lithanro Coffee Curing Unit (LCCU) at Sanis, Wokha district was inaugurated by Joint Director (Extn), Coffee Board, Government of India, Ministry of Commerce and Industry Guwahati, Assam Navin Kumar Bahl Ryntathiang on Monday. In his inaugural speech Navin Kumar expressed happiness that someone in a small town in the North East has started the venture of setting up a Coffee Curing Unit.
He said the venture will boost the economy of the state and congratulated the proprietor of LCCU stating that the coffee growers were blessed as they have their own coffee curing unit at their backyard.
Additional Director Land Resources Department, Nagaland, Albert Ngullie in his address congratulated the proprietor for setting up the coffee curing unit, saying that the department was looking at 3Es in promoting coffee cultivation in the state i.e. Employment generation, Economic enhancement and Environment Protection. He encouraged the coffee growers to be sincere and dedicated to produce the best and quality coffee. Proprietor of Lithanro Coffee Curing Unit, Searon thanked God for the successful launch of the programme. He said the initiative will open a gateway to coffee growers.
The programme was attended by Bijaya Barman Pathalogist and Officer –in-Charge, Regional Coffee Research Station, Coffee Board, GoI, Diphu, Assam and Partha Pratim Choudhury Dy.director Coffee Board, GoI Jorhat Assam and officials of Land Resources Department, coffee growers from nearby villages and districts.The programme was dedicated by senior pastor Kohima Lotha Baptist Church, Rev. Dr. K Benry Lotha.
