Colourful cultural performances mark day-4 of Hornbill

Colourful cultural performances by tribes of Nagaland continued to entertain visitors as Hornbill Festival at Kisama entered Day-4 on Sunday.
The morning session of the day was attended by Indian Oil Corporation executive director and State head G Ramesh as a special guest, while the host of the programme was Nagaland Legislative Assembly speaker Sharingain Longkumer and Horticulture and Border Affairs adviser Mhathung Yanthan was the co-host.
In the evening session, the host was Housing and Mechanical minister Tongpang Ozukum.
In the morning session of the cultural programme, Ao cultural troupe performed “Nokinketer Yar” (warrior dance), which was accompanied by headhunting ceremonial ululation. Rengma cultural troupe presented a folk dance “Ben Kesi”, which was followed by Kuki cultural troupe performing “Savailhun” (song and dance), while Angami cultural troupe from Viswema village performed “Nyokro Kevü” (action/folk song) and Chakhesang cultural troupe presented a folk song titled “Nohüli”.
Lotha cultural troupe presented “Serulo” (dance of joy). Zeliang cultural troupe performed Skylark Dance (Roina), which was followed by Sumi cultural troupe performing Spear Head Kicking.
In the evening, cultural troupes from Zeliang, Pochury, Kachari, Sumi, Garo, Lotha, Rengma and Angami communities performed a folk dance/folk song at the main arena.
