Create awareness on schemes: Tovihoto

Advisor for Power, Tovihoto Ayemi on Saturday, urged upon the village and colony council members to creatr awareness and programmes to help the public know about the various government schemes.
Speaking at the inaugural programme of the road renovation work at Supply Colony and Fellowship Colony Dimapur as special guest, the advisor said such awareness programmes will ensure that no one was deprived of the schemes.
He also asked the gathering present at the programme, to benefit from the schemes as everyone had the right to avail them.
In the state, Tovihoto said that the state government has been working tirelessly for an all-round development in the state.
He informed that many projects have been successfully carried out and that more were ongoing.
Congratulating the workmanship of the Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC), he also appreciated the contribution and cooperation extended by the colony members in fulfilling the long-awaited road.
Further, he encouraged the residents to live in unity and continue living exemplary lives for other colonies and district to look up to.
Presenting the technical report, DMC executive engineer, Badal Chandra Bhatra informed that improvement road at Supply Colony approach road was carried out in two phases.
He said the first phase was 400m (2018-19) and second 550m (2022). Bhatra informed that the specification included WBM (Gr-II, Gr-III stone metal spreading and compacting, premix carpeting, premix seal coat and major repairing of 3ft dia hume pipe culvert.
The work commenced on March 15, 2022 and was completed on May 10, 2022.
Informing that the DMC was implementing agency, Bhatra said the work estimated at Rs. 41,56,155 incurred an expenditure amounting to Rs. 26,35000.
He mentioned that there was no special grand for road repairing and that it was financed by DMC.
Further, he informed that the only revenue they received was from the revenue collected from toll tax which was closed down recently.
Short speeches were also delivered by Supply Colony and Fellowship Colony representatives.
The programme was chaired by DMC administrator Albert Ezung, invocation was offered by Baptist Revival Church pastor, Rev. Khriezovi Kiso and special song was by Rhombemo Humtsoe.
Later, vote of thanks was proposed by DMC assistant engineer, Avika Zhimomi.
