Crusade cum awareness programme held at New Life Mission School, ka

A one-day crusade cum social and education awareness programme was conducted at New Life Mission School, Nilalung, Karbi Anglong on January 22. The programme was graced by chairman of Livingstone Foundation International, Dr. Andrew Ahoto Sema as the chief guest, and director of Welcome Ministry, Guwahati, Rev. Dr. Gibson Marak as the guest speaker.
A press release by the information desk of Livingstone International stated that Dr. Andrew Ahoto Sema who spoke on the occasion, encouraged locals, students, staff and teachers to not only educate themselves but to imbibe the goodness and value of education. He highlighted that though education is the prime element for the growth and prosperity of any region and its people, the main element of development is to be upright and just people filled with moral goodness and to follow the values of truth, justice and integrity.
He also opined that it is not one’s job or position that determines who they but it is to be the best in whatever we do that actually determines their humane quality. He also expressed his gratitude to the school led by its proprietor, Wotsa and pastor P. Marak for having invited him to be a part of their programme and expressed hope and encouraged the management, teachers, students and the local community to develop through honest endeavors and become an exemplary institution for Karbi Anglong and the adjoining areas.
During his discourse, the guest speaker, Rev. Dr. Gibson Marak spoke on the essence of light and knowledge which are both God gifted elements and urged everyone to rise and seek for light and knowledge instead of materialistic living which is short-lived and is of trivial value. He also called upon the gathering not to be lazy or lukewarm Christians but to be torch-bearers of wisdom and justice for the downtrodden and less fortunate ones. He also conducted a healing session for ailing people of Nilalung and its adjoining villages.
