CS holds review meet with urban development, municipal affairs

Chief secretary (CS) of Nagaland, J Alam, IAS held a departmental review meeting with AHoDs and HoDs of urban development and municipal affairs in the conference Hall of the chief secretary, Kohima, on Saturday.
According to a DIPR report, CS stated that both urban development and municipal affairs were important departments for the state government and carried huge responsibilities.
He said that with a lot of welfare projects under their supervision, both departments had the opportunity to help people in the state benefit from the schemes.
Alam also called upon the departments to plan for the future and come up with innovative ideas for the successful implementation of the welfare schemes.
He further encouraged the departments to continue to work for the people with dedication, enthusiasm and bring laurel to the state.
During the meeting, the department officials gave a PowerPoint presentation of the department’s activities including development programmes and welfare schemes, innovative practices, establishment matters and other issues related to the departments. The department highlighted the meeting on various welfare schemes and projects of the state government and central government being implemented and monitored by the department such as the Swachh Bharat Mission, AMRUT, PM SVANidhi, PMAY (Housing for All) etc.
The meeting also deliberated on how to implement the welfare projects properly so that beneficiaries can benefit from them.
Challenges and other issues were also discussed.
