A comprehensive programme focusing on cyber safety, legal awareness and career guidance was organized collaboratively by the Superintendent of Police Office Phek, Chakhesang Students’ Union (CSU), and Phek Government College at Phek Government College on September 20, with an aim of equipping students with valuable knowledge and resources.
According to a DIPR report, SP Phek, Dr. Pritpal Kaur Batra, graced the occasion and shed light on the programme’s purpose. She discussed various types of complaints received through online registration at the NCRP portal and the helpline 1930. Dr. Batra urged students to become cyber volunteers and actively participate in spreading awareness about cybercrimes.
The session’s resource person, senior faculty at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) and founder of Zed-Ace, Md Sayeed Khan, delved into crucial topics related to cyber safety and ethical hacking. Khan provided insights into preventive measures to safeguard against cyber fraud. He also emphasized on the vulnerabilities associated with using social media apps and shared strategies for protection.
Addressing the career guidance aspect of the programme, Sahil from the MGN Fellowship highlighted various government schemes and policies available for students. Sahil encouraged students to make informed career choices based on their preferences and aspirations.
The programme was presided over by Kenei and CSU leader, Povozo Soho, delivered the welcome address, setting an encouraging tone for the event.
The collaborative efforts of the SP Office Phek, Chakhesang Students’ Union, and Phek Government College in organizing this program reflected their commitment to enhancing cyber safety awareness, legal knowledge, and career prospects for the students of Phek.
