Day-5 of Hornbill Festival: Number of visitors dip

Visitors at the ongoing 23rd edition of Hornbill Festival at Naga Heritage Village Kisama witnessed a low turnout on Monday (Day-5).
While the number of visitors saw a high of 19,393 with 86 foreigners, 5,739 domestic and 13,568 local tourists at the venue on Sunday, the number dropped to less than half on Day-5.
The number of visitors on Monday was at 9,158 which included 76 foreigners and 3,972 domestic and 5,110 local tourists. Several morungs also witnessed minimal number of guest visits.
The morning session was held with All India Football Federation president Kalyan Chaubey as special guest, while Director Arts for British Council India Jonathan Kennedy and AIFF treasurer Kiba Ajay were honoured guests.
Host and co-host of the session were advisor YRS Zale Neikha and DUDA advisor N Bongkhao Konyak respectively. Cultural troupes during the session included Lotha, Sumi, Pochury, Rengma, Garo, Zeliang and Kachari. The afternoon session was held with Rear Admiral Manish Chadha, Asst Chief of Personnel (Adm and Civ), as the chief guest, while host for the session was Art & Culture adviser H. Khehovi. Troupes of Angami, Ao, Chakhesang, Kuki, Sumi, Zeliang and Pochury gave cultural performances during the session.
