DAYO celebrates 10th anniv

Dimapur Ao Youth Organisation (DAYO) celebrated its 10th anniversary at DAYO treasurer’s residence, here, on Thursday.
Addressing the gathering, DAYO president Tia Longchar stated that the organisation has gone through bad and good times to achieve what it has achieved today. He highlighted the humanitarian works and activities carried out by DAYO, especially the assistance towards Ao entrepreneurs in particular and Nagas in general in fighting against extortion. In a short speech, Ao Senso Telongjem Dimapur (ASTD) vice president, Imtisangba Aier urged upon the gathering to stay humble, retrospect and learn.
Asserting that Aos should stay humble and stand in truth, he also challenged the gathering to follow the footsteps of their pioneers. Further, he encouraged the Ao community present, to educate themselves in all fronts, in order to lead Aos to every front. Earlier, the programme was chaired by DALT executive convener, S Pangertoshi and invocation was offered by Dimapur Area Ao Baptist Pastors Fellowship president, Temsu Jamir. Short speeches were also delivered by Watsu Telongjem Dimapur president, Aoinla and former executive member, Limatangit Lemtur. Later, vote of thanks was proposed by Imkongsungkum and special numbers were presented by Moajungla and Aosenla. At the programme, a moment of silence was observed in memory of DAYO members who passed away.
