DC Phek issues travel advisory

The deputy commissioner (DC) Phek has restricted movement of light and medium vehicles carrying a load below 11.5 Metric Tons along the stretch of Kohima-Jessami (Package-II) on NH-29 from 5pm to 8pm with immediate effect till October 2, 2023.

In a travel advisory, DC Phek Kuko Mero stated that the stretch of Kohima-Jessami (Package-II) on NH-29 from existing Km. 30.474 to existing Km. 53.220 (Designed Km 29.600 to Km 51.5) has been damaged severely due to landslide and rockfalls on multiple occasions.


DC stated that the construction company was on the job for maintenance and restoration work on that particular road stretch. Therefore, travellers have been advised to take the alternative route via Zuketsa (for light and medium vehicles).

Further, due to damage caused to the bridge at Km. 36.950 (Kohima-Jessami road, Package-II) on NH-29, movement of heavy/medium vehicles carrying a load of 11.5 Metric Tons and above has been completely restricted. DC Phek has reminded all concerned to strict comply with the advisory.
