In an effort to eliminate drug abuse in the district, DEF Tuensang under the initiative of SP Tuensang, Kanchan Kumar Kandpal conducted an awareness programme on drug abuse at Chare town on August 3.
The programme was attended by members from village council, DBs, students, women and representatives from different organisations.
In a press release, PRO and Add SP Tuensang informed that rise of drug abuse were deliberated and the event concluded with a pledge to work in coordination in spreading the awareness to control the abuses.
On August 11, in another initiative, SDPO Tuensang, Manish Bhartiya conducted an interaction session with the youths of Tuensang, who were drugs addict. During the session, SDPO Tuensang highlighted about the importance of the roles of individual and responsibility to bring changes in the society.
He encouraged the youths to come forward with positive input to tackle drugs menace in the society.
DEF under the supervision of SP Tuensang conducted three-day baking class from August 3 to 5 for the family welfare committee of DEF Tuensang. Around 20 attended the baking class. During the training, the attendees were taught baking ideas on various products and ingredients. The training was imparted by NCE Ram Prakash of DEF Tuensang assisted by ABC/1866 Vipul Mech.
DEF Tuensang also organised a “Tiranga Rally’ as part of “Har Ghar Tiranga” on August 14 at Tuensang town. The event was attended by Tuensang police led by SP, Tuensang and administrative officers led by Deputy Commissioner Tuensang and well-wishers.
Meanwhile, on account of Independence Day, traffic constable/1355, T. Throngrum Yimchunger of DEF Tuensang was presented an appreciation certificate along with presentation by SP Tuensang in recognition of his valuable service for the unit and Nagaland Police.
A total of 52 personnel and officers of the unit were also awarded cash at the ceremony held at Durbar Hall, SP Office, Tuensang on August 14, PRO said.
