Delhi Lotha Baptist Church celebrates silver jubilee

Delhi Lotha Baptist Church (DLBC) celebrated silver jubilee in the national capital New Delhi on February 5.
The silver jubilee was celebrated under the theme “Hungjan Ethan-A New Horizon”.
In a press release, convenor silver jubilee, Dr.Rembomo Odyuo and secretary, Emilo Ngullie said that the event started with a cutting of ribbon and dedication by pastor, Delhi Lotha Baptist Church, Rev.K.Chumben Kyong.
Speaking as the jubilee speaker, Rev.Dr.Benri Lotha, senior pastor, Kohima Lotha Baptist Church praised the church leaders of the past and present for sustaining the church and leading them to its 25 years celebration. He also spoke about how living a meaningful life today can determine a powerful legacy for the future generation of the people.
Rev.Dr.Benri challenged the congregation to remain faithful, and be more focused on what was ahead in heaven and not to be swayed away by the glitters of this temporary physical world.
Dr. Rembomo Odyuo, the convenor of the silver jubilee delivered the welcome address, followed by invocation by Jethro Merry, founding member of the church.
Prof. Benrithung Murry, convenor of history committee presented a brief comprehensive report of the church history and pastor Chenithung Ezung consecrated and unveiled the silver jubilee monolith and souvenir. Prof. Zuchamo Yanthan, gave away the presentation to all the executive members of the past and present, different organizing committee members, guest speakers, choir members, individuals, in-laws etc.
Dr.Thungpamo Patton, spoke on behalf of the founding members of the church.
The prayer of blessings was offered by Rev. Ntsenth Lotha and a special offering was collected in the name of “Silver Jubilee Celebration”, which was blessed by Evangeline Odyuo Koireng.
The church choir members led by Eyingbemo Ovung, the choirmaster and the pianist Zichibeni Murry presented two songs based on the ‘Silver Jubilee’ theme.
The children choir members also presented a song titled “Glorious”. Dr. Chumbemo Khuvung, advisor of DLBC delivered the vote of thanks.
