Dimapur Government College hosts international seminar

A two-day international seminar on the topic of “Fusion: Intellectual and Cultural Exchanges” got underway at Seminar Hall, Dimapur Government College on Wednesday.
The seminar was organised by the Department of English and the Research Committee in collaboration with The Highland Institute, Kohima and the IQAC, Dimapur Government College.
The inaugural session was hosted by Dr. Maongkala Longchar, Assistant Professor, Department of English, DGC and welcome note was delivered by Dr. Vinyuhu Lhoungu Assistant Professor, Department of Economics and Coordinator, IQAC, DGC.
At the seminar, “The Diary of Connie Shakespear: The Naga Hills1900-1902” was released by DGC principal, Dr. M. Libanthung Ngullie. The book was edited and published by The Highlander Press run by The Highland Institute, Kohima.
The foreword to the book was written by A. Sentiyula, Assistant Professor, Department of English, DGC. An Introduction to the book was given by Dr. Theyiesinuo Keditsu, Assistant Professor, Department of English, Kohima College.
The book of abstracts was launched by Kezhaleu Hesso, vice-principal, DGC.
Dr. Arkotong Longkumer, senior lecturer, Modern Asia, University of Edinburgh, UK, delivered the keynote address. The inaugural session concluded with a vote of thanks by Shuiching Konyak Assistant Professor, Department of English, DGC.
