Dimapur Tsopoe Ekhung (DTE) celebrated its silver jubilee at Lotha Hoho Ki on Tuesday.
The occasion was marked by felicitation of the office bearers, founding members of the Ekhung and those departed leaders. As a mark of respect a minute silence was observed in memory and honour of those departed members of the Ekhung.
Gracing the jubilee as special guest, director of School Education, Wonthungo Tsopoe reminded the gathering to count the blessing bestowed on them since the formation of the Ekhung.
He told the members that God did not forsake anyone but the people in search of richness failed to seek His blessing. The director also called upon the members to forgive and forget the past misdeeds through this jubilee in order to move forward.
He also released the jubilee souvenir. In his word of encouragement, chairman Limhachan Tonphyaktsu Motsurui Ekhung, Wokha, K.N. Thungbemo Tsopoe said that as head of the family, father has a big responsibility to lead the family with Christian principles. He said just as fathers have been authorized to lead the familyso also it was the bounden duty of the father to lead the family in prayers by seeking His blessings.
Extending jubilee greetings, Lothatsu Tsopoe Ekhung, K. Lanthamo Tsopoe urged the gathering to seek His blessing first reminding them that men’s greatness can be found in the fear of Lord.
“God does not leave us but we must seeking His blessing”, he said. Earlier, the programme began with a blessing prayer by a 84-year-old, Yachio Tsopoe which was chaired by vice chairman DTE, K. Zampomo Tsopoe.
Welcome address was delivered by chairman Dimapur Tsopoe Ekhung, N. Bena Tsopoe, where he briefly spoke on the formation of the Ekhung in 1998.
Special songs on the celebration and meaning of jubilee was presented by J. Thumchobeni Tsopopvui and ex-pastor Yanarao Tsopoe. The programme culminated with vote of thanks by convener jubilee planning committee, Dr. Thungchamo Tsopoe and benediction by pastor AG church Setikie Basa, Evothung Tsopoe.
The prayer of jubilee feast was offered by deacon LBC, Dimapur, Orenthung Tsopoe.
