DIMAPUR: District Health Society (DHS) Mon held a review meeting with the District Program Officers (DPOs), Senior Medical Officer (SMO), Medical Officers (MOs), Community Health Officers (CHOs) and nurses of all the health units on March 26 at the Conference Hall of District Hospital Mon (DHM).
In a press release, the department informed that Dr. Shasinle Tep reminded all the nurses and CHOs to give importance to any kind of national programs and that to do away with absenteeism during their duty hours.
She congratulated CHO Longwa for being felicitated by the state and all the awardees who were awarded during the national immunisation day. Dr.Tep also gave a presentation on PPT on Covid-19 vaccine for 12-14 years and national immunization schedule. DTO, Mon Dr. Tinenlo James Katiwa requested all the CHOs, nurses and MOs to refer any suspected cases that come across their health units to district TB Centre or to collect the sputum and send it to the DTC.
Dr Katiwa requested the healthcare staffs to educate the public on the reliability, efficacy and the quality of the medicines available in the DTC. He said many hesitated to take the medicine thinking that it would be of inferior or poor quality as it was given free of cost. Dr. Katiwa also gave a presentation on PPT on TB preventive treatment and TB Mukt Bharat campaign.
DPO DAPCU Mon LongyimTzudir shared the efforts and progress under National AIDS Control Programme Phase IV and the key challenges faced i.e., the lack of information on HIV, lack of healthcare seeking behaviour, non-involvement of PLHIV, conveyance, frequent lockdown due to COVID-19 and engagement in COVID duty.
Adolescent friendly health clinic and national mental health programme services were briefed by counsellor Kenyuhyule Thong and the definition of Kayakalp and NQAS and its differences and importance were shared by DPM-QA, Watikumla Amlari.
