Divyangjans receive aids and appliances in Kiphire district

A programme for distribution of aids and appliances to divyangjans was organised by Department of Social Welfare Kiphire at Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) Kiphire office, Saturday.
Speaking at the programme, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kiphire T. Wati Aier said that Kiphire district was the first the state to receive the aids and appliances for the people with disabilities.
The DC also urged people with disabilities to get medically checked and avail certificates so as to receive aids and benefits from the government. Aier also encouraged the young people with disabilities to read and avail reservations, if any, in competitive examinations and jobs.
Deputy chief medical officer (CMO) Kiphire, Dr. Kohlitso Khalo also spoke on the rights and Acts of people with disabilities. He said the government was giving utmost importance to them by way of providing reservation in job and exams and also highlighted the schemes and policies for people with disabilities.
Earlier, CDPO and DWO in-charge Kiphire, S.Yesumong delivered keynote address and shared about the benefits for people with disabilities.
District coordinator (PMMVY) Limitsung Sangtam, who chaired the programme, highlighted the PMMVY program; KTBL associate pastor Alison Sangtam invoked God’s blessing while block coordinator Phoshan Abhiyann Kiphire, Atsoba delivered the vote of thanks.
