DMC issues notice on RRR campaign; license

Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) has informed all chairmen and GBs under its jurisdiction that “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle (RRR)” campaign under the theme “Meri Life Mera Swach Shehar”, as per the initiative of Swachh Bharat Mission 2.0 under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, would be launched on May 20, 11 a.m. at DDSC Stadium, Golaghat Road.
In a press release, DMC administrator, W Manpai Phom has informed all colony chairmen and GBs to attend the programme. The council has informed that the campaign aims to establish RRR Centres where citizen could contribute items like clothes, shoes, books, toys, newspaper and plastic (excluding single use plastic) for reuse and recycling. A 3-week campaign will culminate on “World Environment Day”, June 5 with a pledge for a clean and sustainable environment.
Further, DMC has informed that following would be parameters for RRR Centre – RRR campaign would be open to all colonies within DMC jurisdiction; minimum of one colony per ward; self-help/NGOs can participate representing the colony with consent and NOC from the colony council; participating colonies will have to submit the location of their RRR Centre while registering on or before May 20, along with details of RRR Centre, point of contact name, phone number, address in letter head. Any colony wanting to participate after May 20 can contact the nodal officer from DMC at 7005245917; the colonies participating should document each day’s work in short videos and photos (preferably GPS photo); the date of commencement of the competition shall be from May 20 till June 3; submission of collected items can be submitted on May 27 and June 3m 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. at DDSC Stadium, Golaghat Road; all collected items would be judged based on weight and points will be allocated as per the items enclosed as attached; only six items mentioned shall be collected and kept in segregated manner, items collected can be racked or placed in a clean area; declaration of result would be on June 6 and winner of the competition would be awarded with cash reward and certificate.
Rate of licenses
In a separate notification, DMC has issued rate of new registration and renewal fees of DMC licenses of different categories of hand carts and rickshaws.
In a press release, DMC administrator, W Manpai Phom said the annual renewal and validity period of the registration license shall follow the financial year system i.e., April 1 to March 31. The council has informed that the order shall come into force from May 20 and remain until further order.
DMC has fixed rates as following – handcart/trolley cart/ice-cream/sugarcane juicer/each category – new registration at Rs. 400 and renewal at Rs. 350; E. Rickshaw – new registration at Rs. 800 and renewal at Rs. 700; cycle rickshaw – new registration at Rs. 400 and renewal at Rs. 350; rickshaw driving license fees – new registration at Rs. 350 and renewal at Rs. 300; bicycle – new registration at Rs. 100 and renewal at Rs. 100; application forms – new registration at Rs. 50 and renewal at Rs. 50.
