Dimapur Naga Students Union (DNSU) appeals govt to start DGC Science block

The Dimapur Naga Students Union (DNSU) has expressed concern over the state government’s failure to start the proposed Science block at Dimapur Government College, which was inaugurated on November 12, 2020.

In a press note, DNSU said that the members met Higher Education and Tourism minister Temjen Imna Along at his residential office chamber on May 9, 2023 and submitted a representation addressed to the commissioner and secretary, Higher Education.

The union also mentioned that it was a serious concern as many students who were in pursuit of studying Science stream were compelled to seek admission outside of the State due to limited Science departments in the State colleges.

DNSU expressed gratitude to Imna Along for assuring that the Science block would be functional from the next academic session and hoped that the government and the concerned department would not delay the process.
The union also met the commissioner & secretary Higher Education and shared the same concern.
