A performance review for the Mahatma Gandhi National Fellows (MGNF) programme under the World Bank-assisted “Skill Acquisition and Knowledge Awareness for Livelihood Promotion” (SANKALP) of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), government of India was conducted by Directorate of Employment, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (DoESDE) on March 31.
According to a DIPR report, the MGNF programme, an initiative of the MSDE, was implemented by the DoESDE and the Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode (IIMK) as the academic partner.
Under the Mahatma Gandhi National Fellows programme, eleven young fellows are placed in eleven districts of Nagaland supporting the district administrations for effective skill planning and management since October 2021.
In the presence of the DoESDE director, the MGN fellows made presentations on their initiatives around ¬awareness and mobilization for skill training, job melas, entrepreneurship development, advocating and pushing the skill development agenda in their respective districts.
The event was chaired by state resource associate, MGNF Nagaland, IIMK, Diepeu Mero, and the closing remarks was delivered by DESDE deputy director, Zubemo Lotha Tsanglao.
