Dr. Virendra inaugurates Social Welfare camp in Kiphire

Union Minister for Social Justice & Empowerment Dr Virendra Kumar virtually inaugurated a free distribution camp (Social Welfare Camp) for aid and assistive devices for identified Divyangjans (differently abled) in Kiphire district on Friday. According to DIPR, Kumar also interacted with Kiphire district officials through video conferencing from Niathu Resort.
Speaking on the occasion, he expressed delight for successfully organising the camp in Kiphire, besides appreciating district administration and staff of Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India, Ali Yavar Jung National Institute of Speech & Hearing Possibilities and Swami Vivekananda National Institute of Rehabilitation Training & Research for successfully organising the camp despite the difficult weather conditions.
Christened Samajik Adhikaritashivir, the camp, which is also one of the largest social welfare camps organised since post Covid-19, witnessed a huge turnout of people with disability (PWDs) and general public at Hoponghyu Memorial Hall, Kiphire town.
The camp for distribution of aid and assistive to Divyangjans under the ADIP scheme and to senior citizens under Rashtriya Vayoshi Yojane (RVY) of the Union Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment is organised by Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities under the Union ministry in association with ALIMCO, SVNIRTAR and AYJNISH and district administration Kiphire. In Nagaland, the scheme is implemented through the implementing agencies ALIMCO, AYJNISHD and SVNIRTAR.
Meanwhile, Kumar will interact with BJP workers on Saturday, besides visiting Integrated Rehabilitation Centre for Addicts, granted by the Ministry.
