DWSM PHED Wokha conducts training on field testing kits

As a part of the ongoing “Swachh Jal Se Suraksha” campaign, District Water and Sanitation Mission (DWSM) PHED, Wokha division conducted a hands-on training on Field Testing Kits (FTK) for grassroot level workers on November 28 at Liphi village, Bhandari Town, Amboto Old and Akuhaiqa Village.
A press release by the division informed that the objective of the training was to ensure supply of quality drinking water quality in rural areas.
During the training, district chemist, Er. Aremo highlighted on the water quality issues, ways of water contamination and gave a demonstration on the use of FTK.
The FTK users were also reminded and made aware of their responsibility to carry out the water quality surveillance duty as per the Jal Jeevan Mission, government of India guidelines
District co-ordinator, Chuba Longchar highlighted on water borne diseases, health effects and safe handling and storage of drinking water. The trainees were villages council members, WATSAN Committee Members, Swachhagrahis, ASHA and Anganwadi workers.
