State deputy chief minister, Y. Patton on Thursday, inaugurated Tsungiki village council hall in the presence of elders and leaders of the village and Chukitong range.
In a press release, deputy CM media cell informed that in his speech, Patton said the village councils could play proactive role in formulating plans and projects for the village in which the government could assist.
The council should work hand in hand with the Village Development Board (VDB) to elevate the condition of education, agriculture and communitisation of water supplies and electricity, Patton suggested.
He acknowledged the council and villagers for their unity in all the activities and assured them of all possible help in the future.
Meanwhile, Tsungiki village council (TVC) and villagers also acknowledged deputy CM for his concern towards the welfare of the village.
The programme was chaired by TVC chairman Janthungo Kikon who also gave the opening remarks, invocation was offered by home evangelist Santhungo Ngullie and dedicatory prayer by Tsungiki Baptist Church pastor T. Mhao Kikon.
Eramoe Okho presented a song while project assistant and IE coordinator DMA Wokha, Ezanthung Shitiri proposed vote of thanks.
The deputy CM was accompanied by DC Wokha, SP, party workers and officials.
