Educational institutions organise programmes

As part of its academic and extracurricular activities, educational institutions across the state organised various programmes and activities.


DGC: One day orientation programme for the introduction of M.A (Education) in Dimapur Government College (DGC) was held on August 11, at the DGC seminar hall.


NU: Nagaland University (NU) Hindi department observed “World Indigenous Day” on August 10 at the Department of Hindi, with an objective to preserve indigenous society, culture, promote it and to make aware of the current challenges and problems.

During the programme, teachers, researchers and students of the department presented their views on the indigenous society.


PCC: To commemorate “International Day of World’s indigenous Peoples”, a seminar was organized by Patkai Christian College (PCC) department of philosophy on the topic, “Indigenous youth as agents of change for self- determination” on August 9 at the Conference Hall. During the programme, a paper presentation was presented by three students of philosophy (5th semester).


MITE: A two-day national seminar on “Innovations in future education system: India 2.0.” sponsored by Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), New Delhi was organised by Modern Institute of Teacher Education (MITE) on August 10-11. The plenary sessions and technical sessions discussed and presented about learning management system, e-learning initiatives, issues and challenges of teacher education in India, universal design for learning is a new approach to teaching and learning. Various Ph.D. researchers and scholars as well as professors, principals and heads from different college, universities and states from different parts of India presented on different topics related to their study.


SJU: The Red Ribbon Club (RCC) of St Joseph University on August 11 made its first outreach program by undertaking a visitation to Chavara Home, Naharbari. Altogether ten star members of RRC together with SJU RRC Nodal officers and few representatives from Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS) had an interactive session with 16 People Living With HIV-AIDS (PLWHA).


SGHS: St. Gabriel High School, Chumukedima conducted its science exhibition model for Classes 7 to 10 on August 10 at the school premises. The lower classes were made to view the different model displayed with explanation from the students.
