As part of the academic curriculum and extracurricular activities, educational institutions and other organisations organised various programmes for the students, faculty, and non-teaching staff.
DGC & UC: A state level workshop “Office Practices and Library Management: Requirements for NAAC Assessment” was held on May 16 at Dimapur Government College (DGC). The workshop, jointly organised by the Internal Quality Assessment Cells (IQAC) of DGC and Unity College (UC), Dimapur under the professional and development programme for non-teaching staff, was attended by non-teaching staff from 24 colleges all over the State.
Speaking in the inaugural session, DGC principal, Professor Sanjay Sharma, laid emphasis on the importance of good office practices and library management. He said such workshops were required not only for non-teaching staff but also for faculty and administrators of higher educational institutions as well, to be better equipped for National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) assessment.
The workshop had three sessions with senior librarian, DGC, Niketu Siam, senior head assistant, DGC, Ashok Kumar Jain and coordinator, IQAC of St. Xavier College, Jalukie, Peren, Martha T as resource persons. They spoke on the topics, “general library operations”, “office procedure and management” and “finance and accounts” respectively.
The sessions were chaired by coordinator, IQAC, DGC, Dr. Vinyuhu Lhoungu, professor and member IQAC, DGC, Dr. Maongkala Longchar and assistant professor and member, IQAC, UC, Dimapur, Dr. Temjenwabang; the rapporteurs for the workshop were assistant professors and members, IQAC, UC, Dimapur, Dr. Tabussum Khan and Azungla Imsong, and assistant professor and member, IQAC DGC, Selina Walling.
SCC: A five-day workshop on basic computer literacy particularly for ministerial staff of the college was organised by Information and Communication Technology Committee of Sao Chang College (SCC) Tuensang on May 8-12 at the College.
