ENPO, ENWO, ENSF firm to abstain from Hornbill Fest

Attempt by Eastern Nagaland Legislators’ Union (ENLU) to convince Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO), Eastern Nagaland Women’s Organisation (ENWO) and Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) to participate in the upcoming Hornbill Festival was unsuccessful as the three organizations were firm to stand by the October 14, 2022 resolution.
Even after several hours of meeting, convened by ENLU, at the residence of adviser Social Welfare and HG&CD Noke Wangnao in Dimapur on Tuesday, the meeting remained inconclusive and failed to elicit any favourable response.
Sources informed Nagaland Post that the three organisations stood firm on the decision not to participate in the Hornbill Festival.
It may be mentioned that the Central Executive Council of ENPO on October 14 decided to abstain from taking part in the Hornbill Festival from the year 2022, in view of hardships faced by the participants.
However, the CEC meeting decided that the State government shall be requested through ENLU to promote Mini Hornbill Festival of respective tribes.
