ENPO: MHA team holds meeting with tribal hoho leaders, others


The three-member panel of the Union Home ministry (MHA) panel constituted to study the demand for a separate ‘Frontier Nagaland’ by Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO), on Saturday held a series of meetings with various organization in Tuensang.
Sources informed Nagaland Post that the team led by MHA adviser (North East) AK Mishra which also included – Intelligence Bureau joint director Dr Mandeep Singh Tuli and director (Northeast Division) in MHA AK Dhyani, met with the leaders of the seven tribal hohos– Chang, Konyak, Khiamniungan, Phom, Sangtam, Yimkhiung and Tikhir Saturday.
During the meeting, sources said that the Central team heard the views shared by the organizations and also took note of the issues raised by them. The members also met leaders of religious communities (Hindu and Muslim) under ENPO region, GBs and DBs, senior citizens, Eastern Nagaland Women Organisation, Eastern Nagaland Students’ Federation, DCs and SPs of the six districts of Eastern Nagaland.
Sources said that all the tribal hohos and organisations expressed their resolve to stand by the decision of the apex body (ENPO) with regard to demand for separate Frontier Nagaland. It was learnt that the Central team, while visiting Tuensang town during the day, reportedly noted the poor road conditions of the area.
Meanwhile, the MHA team will be visiting Pangsha under Noklak district on Sunday and interact with villagers after which the team will return to Kohima by chopper.
The team is also expected to meet other leaders in Kohima before their departure to Delhi.
