ESSU organises 4th felicitation programme

Eastern Sumi Students Union (ESSU) organised the 4th felicitation programme at Aghunato Village Baptist Church, Aghunato with advisor for Food & Civil Supplies, LM&CP Taxes, Pukhayi Sumi as special guest on July 5.
In a press release, Eastern Sumi Students Union informed that during the programme, Pukhayi exhorted the students to bear thoughtful thoughts as it was one of the attributes of a good leader.
He encouraged them to be humble and urged upon the leaders of today to bring changes in order to encourage and nurture the leaders of tomorrow.
The union informed that the felicitation programme was “pioneered by Pukhayi Sumi to ESSU” in 2018 under the New Education Policy.
In his presidential address, ESSU president, Ghuvika Yeptho congratulated the students and urged upon them to strive for excellence.
He also encouraged them to do good things as doing good would open more opportunities.
Later, speeches from toppers were delivered by Tokabo Katty (top 5 HSSLC) and Bokekali P Yeptho (governor’s award recipient).
At the programme, ESSU felicitated over 160 students under Aghunato sub-division along with distinction holders, toppers (ranked 5th) and Governor’s award recipient.
Earlier, the union also encouraged students who did not get through their exams and expressed hope that they would keep going without discouragement.
