Farwell programmes organised for retired officers

Various departments organised grand farewell programmes for retiring officers and staff.
CN Kohima: A grand farewell programme was organised for the retiring Commissioner Nagaland, Rovilatuo Mor on October 31 at Commissioner’s Office, Kohima. According to a DIPR report, in his farewell speech, Rovilatuo thanked God for sustaining him through thick and thin during his 38 years and two months long career in public service. He also thanked the government of Nagaland for allowing him to serve the people in various capacities and to “key postings”.
While appreciating and thanking the officers and staff in different places and departments he had worked with, Mor said that every officer has to take up the challenges and serve the public efficiently and with sincerity.
Nagaland Chief Secretary, J. Alam acknowledged the works and duties performed by the retiring officer, under whose guidance many far-reaching decisions and solutions were made and solved.
Home Commissioner Nagaland and incoming commissioner of Nagaland, Abhijit Sinha said the outgoing commissioner had a magnificent career with glorious achievements and added that Mor has left a tough legacy for the successor to follow.
Nagaland DGP, T. John Longkumer described Mor as a messenger of peace and described him as a pillar of hope, a man of calmness, rationality, and clarity of thoughts.
Officers and dignitaries who also spoke during the programme include joint commissioner (Hq), L. Jamithung Lotha; deputy commissioner Kohima, Shanavas C; commandant village guards, Mongkoyanchu Chang; president, Nagaland Dobashis Association and president, Nagaland GBs Federation.
H&FW: Directorate of Health & Family Welfare (H&FW) organised a farewell programme for its outgoing director, Dr. T. Wabang on November 1 at the Conference Hall of IDSP, Kohima.
A press release by the department informed that in his farewell speech, Dr. T. Wabang thanked Almighty God for his help throughout the career. Dr. Wabang also thanked all the officers of the department and requested the officers and doctors to focus more on mental health programs even though all aspect of health was equally important.
In a speech, principal director, Dr. K. Vikato Kinimi, spoke highly of Dr. T. Wabang and thanked him for his services to the department and the people.
Horti deptt: Department of horticulture in a grand and befitting ceremony on November 1 accorded a warm send off to the outgoing director, Dr R Elithung Lotha, on his retirement after 35 years of illustrious service.
A press release by the department stated that in his farewell speech, Dr.Lotha attributed his success to God’s grace. He also thanked all the ranks and files of the department with whom he got an opportunity to work.
Dr.Lotha further urged the officers and staff to continue rendering the yeoman services to the people especially the farmers and requested them to go to the farmers instead of having the farmers come looking for them.
Special guest, advisor for horticulture & border affairs, Mhathung Yanthan described the outgoing officer to be a humble, god-fearing and disciplined man. He urged the remaining officers and staff to be motivated by the outgoing officer who have raised such high standards of achievement and maintain the standard he has set and emulate his example, simplicity and sincerity. Mhathung challenged them to rededicate their life and service and contribute much more to what they currently doing.
Different speakers on behalf of the directorate and district ministerial staff, district horticulture officers, sub-divisional horticulture officers, directorate technical staff, secretariat and well-wishers including family members while enumerating various qualities of the outgoing officer, shared recollections and anecdotes during their association with him.
