Directorate of Food & Civil Supplies (F&CS) Dimapur has informed that the department in collaboration with PATH, technical partners, would be organising series of programme across the state to generate general awareness to clear misinformation on plastic rice from August 3 to 30, 2023.
In a press release, director F&CS, Chubawati Chang stated that in accordance with the directive of government of India, the state of Nagaland has initiated Phase- III of fortification programme in PDS with the slogan “Bhal Khalua, Desh Mazboot Korene” (Good Nutrition for Healthy Nation), covering the remaining districts in phase manner from the month of June 2023 and envisages achieving the target of 100% coverage within the stipulated period.
In this regard, Food & Civil Supplies department said in collaboration with PATH, technical partners, series of programme would be organised across the state to generate general awareness to clear misinformation on plastic rice being circulated in the social media.
Meanwhile, the department has appealed to all concerned fair price shops, village councils, ward chairmen, GBs, civil society organizations and others to actively participate in the awareness programmes in their respective districts and spread the message and educate on the benefit of consumption of fortified rice.
