The programme’s aim was to capacitate young people on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights, and leadership. The participants carried out their own initiatives to understand issues like domestic abuse, sexual assault, menstrual discrimination and consent.
During the graduation ceremony, participants shared their findings, and discussed what could be the way forward.
Findings from their study included common misconceptions in Nagaland that sexual assault does not exist in the state, silencing domestic abuse, etc. There was also concern of inaccessible menstrual products due to economic issues. The young participants were motivated to consciously advocate for Sexual and Reproductive Rights in the days to come.
