Foundation stone laidfor Noklak district court

Gauhati High Court judge, Kohima bench and executive chairman, NSLSA, Justice Songkhupchung Serto on May 28 laid the foundation stone of district court complex, Nokak, at white hall, Noklak Village.
In a press release, NSLSA PRA, Ketholeno Neihu informed that in his inaugural address, Justice Serto encouraged the parents to ensure their children free and compulsory education.
He asked villagers to know their rights and basing on the four schemes, he said the government has provided every person with different rights and entitlement.
In her speech, superintendent of police, Noklak, Dr.Pritpal Kaur said law was part of criminal justice system and bringing of a court would be profitable to people of Noklak as justice delivery system would be easier for public.
Meanwhile, additional judge, Gauhati High Court Kohima Bench, Justice Kakheto Sema said legal services and court were inseparable wings in the justice delivery system for the people.
He opined that with the laying of foundation stone, Noklak had also come in the map of the judicial headquarter where a court and legal services would come into form.
In a short speech, secretary, Judicial Law and Justice department, Nino Iralu described the role of para legal volunteers (PLVs) as harbingers of justice especially in rural areas where many were unable to access legal rights.
She informed that PLVs in Nagaland have created examples by receiving best PLV awards for their sincere services at grassroots.
The programme was organised by Nagaland State Legal Services Authority (NSLSA) where an awareness programme on four priority schemes-Social Welfare Schemes, Health schemes, Right to Education and National Food Security Act was conducted.
The awareness programme on schemes was presented by advocate S Pusham, advocate B Langshen, advocate Themshao Khiamniungan and JMFC cum secretary, Phek DLSA, Cheliam Khiamniungan.
The programme was moderated by project coordinator, NSLSA Kezhosano Kikhi, welcome address by member secretary NSLSA, Victo Sema and JMFC &secretary, Tuensang DLSA, Kumdilong Kessen.
