Frolic Cup: MVYO to face Amigos in final

Medziphema Village Youth Organisation (MVYO) will face Amigos FC in the final match on Wednesday at the ongoing 8th Frolic Cup at Medziphema ground. Medziphema Village Youth Organisation and Amigos FC have won their respective matches in the semi-final matches on Tuesday.
In the first semi-final match, Amigos FC defeated Fury FC Molvom 3-0. The trilling match witnessed the fight for midfield dominance till the final whistle. The opening score came early in the match in the 13th minute from Menguzelie. In the second half, a 30-yard shot from Nyithong in the 57th minute took the score to 2-0. Fury FC trying to come back for equaliser but lost a couple chances at close range. The match was sealed when Rhitso broke the defence of Fury and tipped the ball in the corner beyond the reach of the keeper.
In the second match, MVYO downed United Falcon Club 3-1 to book their berth in the final. The first goal came in the 9th minute when Thejasetuo tapped the ball into the UFC’s net. Despite strong midfield control, the MVYO attackers were denied goals by the disciplined defence and goal keeper. The second half saw the custodian on both side busy keeping their net safe. Avika of MVYO found the net in the 64th minute taking the lead to 2-0. A fine dribbling skill and finishing from Thejasetuo in the 76th minute took the score line to 3-0. The solitary goal for the UFC finally came from Nourhelhoulie in the 85th minute in a display of fine counter attack.
