Frolic Cup: UFC, MVYO move to semis

United Falcon Club and Medziphema Village Youth Organisation (MVYO) won their respective matches in the quarter finals and joined Fury FC, and Amigos FC to the semi-finals at the ongoing 3rd Frolic Cup at Medziphema local ground on Monday.
United Falcon Club booked their berth in the semi-finals after defeating Ton FC Molvom 2-1. UFC took the lead in the 15 minute from a fine free kick from Viketouzo Vasa. The Ton FC came back with exact mirror free kick in the 28th minute from the boot of Jangtinlun. The second half saw both teams fighting for the ultimate goal. UFC broke the stalemate when Nourhielhoulie Vasa rattled net of the Ton FC with his right foot in the final minute of the match.
Medziphema Village Youth Organisation who were yet to find its combination finally came together in the quarter finals as they defeated the Winfield 4-0. The game saw a fight of midfield dominance and a fine test for both sides’ defence. The MVYO opened the scored with a diving header from Avika in the 13th minute followed by a shot for quick lead from the boot of Langphong in the 16 the minute. With the two-goal lead, the Winfield searched for a come-back but failed to open its account as the MVYO took over the ball possession in the second half. The match was sealed with a fine finished from Thejasetuo in the 55th minute followed by a power kick from a close range by Keneisede in the final minute. Winfield got their share of opportunities but failed to make any breakthrough.
