Fuel prices hiked again

State-owned oil marketing companies Tuesday increased the prices of petrol and diesel, taking the total increase since last week to Rs 4.80 per litre.
According to a price notification of state fuel retailers, petrol price was hiked by 80 paise a litre and that of diesel by 70 paise per litre.
After the rate revision, petrol price in Dimapur stood at Rs.101.97 per litre while diesel price climbed to Rs.88.51 per litre. In the state capital Kohima, petrol and diesel price rose to Rs.103.08 per litre and Rs.89.40 per litre respectively.
This is the seventh increase in prices since the ending of a four-and-half-month long hiatus in rate revision on March 22. In all, petrol and diesel prices have gone up by Rs 4.80 per litre – the steepest increase in any eight days since the daily price revision was implemented in June 2017, reports PTI.
Rates have been increased across the country and vary from state to state, depending upon the incidence of local taxation.
