G20 event in Imphal will boost Manipur’s economy: CM Biren

Manipur government hopes to bring positive change to Manipur’s economy after the G20 event in Imphal, scheduled to be held on February 17 and 18.
G20 is the premier forum for international economic cooperation representing around 85% of the global GDP, over 75% of worldwide trade, and two-third of the world population.
“My government is expecting a boost in the state’s economy after the G20 event in Imphal,” Singh told reporters on the sideline of an inspection tour on Monday.
The chief minister inspected the physical progress of the ongoing works of Water Amusement Park, the first water park in the state, being developed at ThengNgu Ching in Awang Potshangbam Khunou in Imphal West district.
“G20 holds 75% of the world economy and taking advantage of the visits of the dignitaries of the G20, we will try our best to attract them for investment in the state,” the chief minister said. During the scheduled dates, February 17 and 18, many foreign delegates will be coming in the state to participate in the event and they will be visiting various tourist attraction centres, he said and appealed to the people to welcome them with hospitality in support of the event.
He claimed that after witnessing significant improvements in various sectors including road connectivity and law and order situation and considering tourist spots, the G20 events have been scheduled in Imphal for two days.
