Govt approves 5 projects worth Rs.134 cr under NESIDS

The State government has approved to take up five projects under North East Special Infrastructure Development Scheme (NESIDS) for the year 2022-2023.
The five projects were pegged at Rs. 134 crore. They include construction of Rs. 50 crore wrestling arena at Tsiesema under Youth Resources & Sports department; upgradation of road from Mon town to Leangha village & NH-702 to Chi village via Guching village at Rs. 20 crore; development of sustainable Agro-Eco tourism in Nagaland to cost Rs. 20 crore.
The projects also include improvement of road from Medziphema town to Sainik School Punglwa Jn via Sirhi Kuki village, Sirhi Angami village, New Socunuoma village, Khaibung village, Zhuikhu village, Hekishe village, Tsuuma village, Maova (11 Kms) and upgradation of transformation capacity at 132Kv substation Nagarjan, Dimapur (132/66Kv, 100MVA-1 No & 66/33Kv, 50MVA-1 No.) at a cost of Rs. 24 crore.
The projects were approved in October 1, 2022 following a meeting held on September, chaired by chief minister and attended by Transport minister, chief secretary and development commissioner.
Rs. 147.93 cr released under NESIDS till date
Meanwhile, as per Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) data available, Nagaland has so far received Rs. 147.93 crore under NESIDS for 17 projects. The total approved cost for 17 projects is Rs. 333.62 crore covering health, road, education sector etc.
Education sector: Implementation of Educational Infrastructure related to IT projects in 190 schools across Nagaland at a cost of Rs. 1895.27 lakhs; In Service Teachers Training cum Examination Centre with Residential Facilities in Nagaland (Rs. 1550 lakhs); Construction of 92 no. of separate girls toilet in Government Schools in Nagaland (Rs. 146.51 lakhs).
Health: Strengthening of health systems for the management of COVID-19 pandemic with special reference to combat the impending 3rd wave of the pandemic in Nagaland (Rs. 1996.19 lakhs); Strengthening of Health Infrastructure of various Health Facilities in Nagaland(Rs. 2100.24 lakhs); Strengthening of health Infrastructure for comprehensive response to possible outbreak of COVID19 in Nagaland (Rs. 1795.62 lakhs)
Power: Scheme for Providing Stable Power Supply to Mon district (Rs. 2096.07 lakhs)
Road & Bridges: Construction and up gradation of Glory Peak Tourist Road under Phek district (Rs. 3250 lakhs); Upgradation of Longnak-Mangkolemba road (Rs. 2853 lakhs); Upgradation of road and bridge from NH-29 at 7th Mile Model Vilage to Siethekema C tourist destination onwards to Governors Camp from Ch.0.00 to 10.5 kms (Rs. 3289.27 lakhs); Development of Trouism related infrastructure (Road with Heliport) at Tuophema tourist village (Rs. 1713.21 lakhs); Upgradation of road from Kiphire to Tourist Destination at Zungki River, Kiphire district (Rs. 2044.32 lakhs); Providing connectivity to places of tourist interest in Tuensang district (Rs. 2538.86 lakhs); Construction of widening of road from NH 29 (Sovima village Gate)- Sovima Cricket Ground upto Thahekhu village, Dimapur (Rs. 2196.14 lakhs); Upgradation of road from Naga Lempong to Ahom Cave trekking point, Longleng (Rs. 1299.43 lakhs) and Upgradation of road from Wokha HQ to N. Longidang (Rs. 2289.9 lakhs)
Water supply: Development of Tourism related infrastructure at Tuophema Tourist Village, Kohima district (Rs. 308.23 lakhs)
