The Governor said that the government at the Centre and the state government were making relentless efforts for improving connectivity in the tribal areas and strengthening their standard of living during the last many decades.
Emphasising on the significance of remembering tribal leaders’ struggle during colonial imperialism, Ganesan said “The freedom we enjoy today is not the contribution of only a handful of people. The brave heroes of the tribal communities contributed significantly to the freedom struggle.”
Today’s generation, particularly the youth, should be made aware of the life and values of these heroes. It will instil a strong sense of patriotism in them, he said. Ganesan lauded NCST, New Delhi for organizing such a conference. “Such an important event is, indeed, commendable and praiseworthy, he said.
