Government of India has fast tracked the process of setting up of centres of National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) in Northeast. J Satyanarayana, secretary DEIT, government of India who was in Guwahati said already 15 centres are set up in region under government of India’s project to enhance Information and Communication Technology (ICT) training and education in the northeast with a outlay of Rs 388 crore.
The ministry plans to set up at least 20 centres in the Northeast India. He said that they plan to train at least 15,000 students every year by offering short and long term courses in areas of Information, Electronics and Communication Technology.
