Hakhizhe branch post office, under Niuland district, the 288th branch of post office in Nagaland was inaugurated by postmaster general Northeast Region-II Dimapur, Som Kamei on Thursday.
The inauguration programme was also attended by Superintendent Posts, Nagaland Division, Razuzakie Phinyo along with village council chairman of Hakhizhe Village and other dignitaries.
In his speech, Som Kamei said that the Post office at Hakhizhe village was the need of the hour considering the distance to the nearest Post office.
He emphasised the importance of having a pincode as it simplifies the delivery of letters and parcels. He also highlighted the department’s intention to establish new branch offices in Nagaland during the upcoming fiscal year.
Kamei further encouraged the public to take advantage and avail the various services available in the post office such as small savings schemes like RD, SSA, MIS etc as well as Postal Life Insurance which was one of the core products of the department. Razuzakie Phinyo said that with the opening of the new office, it will be cater to the needs of neighbouring villages as well. He thanked the PMG for taking personal initiative to open the PO and appreciated the VCC and head GB for their tireless effort.
The programme was chaired by L. Imtikumzuk, O/o the PMG, NE-II, invocation by Pukhaho Swu, pastor Hakhizhe Baptist Church. Viyito Shohe, VCC Hakhizhe, welcomed the gathering and P.C Laltlankima, IP, Kohima Sub-Division pronounced the vote of thanks.
