Health camp conducted at Azedon school

Kevi Children Home, A.G Kohima and Azedon School in collaboration with Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) Kohima, Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) Kohima and Urban Primary Health Centre, (UPHC) Porterlane conducted a free health camp-cum-celebration of “Menstrual Hygiene Day” at Azedon School on May 24. During the camp, screenings, lab and blood pressure tests were carried out by MO, UPHC Poterlane, Dr. Thejangunuo Rutsa, MO, MMU Kohima, Dr. Neivizonuo Rio and MO, RBSK Kohima, Dr. Medozhatuo Keretsü along with nurses and lab technicians.
Meanwhile, counsellor, Adolescent Friendly Health Clinic, NHAK, Dietholenuo Liezietsu conducted individual counselling, group counselling and awareness programme on “Know about Menstruation” for the girls, to commemorate Menstrual Hygiene Day, which is celebrated on May 28.
Earlier, medicines and referral cards were also distributed to the children. Altogether, 170 beneficiaries including children and staff were benefited at the medical camp. The main objective of the medical camp was to bring awareness to the children and staff, and aid them in accessing basic health care services.
