Heatwave grips Dimapur; temperatures likely to remain above normal

Several parts of the State, particularly Dimapur, Chümoukedima and Niuland sweltered under heatwave on Wednesday with temperatures recorded between 35-38°C With humidity level at an average of 70%. The heat index or ‘real feel’ temperature particularly in Dimapur was 41°C. As per Thursday’s weather report, the temperature in Dimapur is set to remain the same between 35-38°C and the ‘real feel’ temperature at 41°C.
According to IMD, the maximum temperatures over Northeast region were likely to be above normal by 4-6°C during next two days. Residents also continued to face harrowing time due to frequent unscheduled power cuts and erratic power supply.
