Heavy vehicles banned on Dikhu Bridge

Deputy commissioner (DC) Mokokchung, Shashank Pratap Singh, has informed that movement of all heavy vehicles on Dikhu Bridge along Mokokchung-Noksen (Tuensang) road via Longmisa village would be restricted from April 29, 2023 to May 7, 2023.
DC Mokokchung informed that a portion of the deck slab of Dikhu Bridge has been damaged and was posing great danger to the lives and properties of the general public. Therefore, in order to facilitate in carrying out the necessary repairing works, the movement of heavy vehicles has been restricted. DC informed that only light vehicles carrying personal luggage would be allowed during the stipulated time. Further, EAC Ongpangkong has been asked to coordinate to check and ensure that the restriction of movement of all heavy vehicles is adhered to. Non-compliance would invite penal action as per the relevant section of the law.
