‘The Sea Riders’ attends Hornbill Fest

“The Sea Riders”- Indian Navy Motor Bike team, which has embarked on a motorcycle journey across seven states of Northeast India, to celebrate the 75th year of independence of the country arrived Kohima on Tuesday.
As part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebration, the team planned to cover a distance of 3500 km in 24 days from November 25 to December 14, 2022.
On their arrival at the state capital, the expedition team in collaboration with Central Bureau of Communication Field office Kohima held a cultural-cum-media interactive programme at the Multimedia Exhibition Hall at Kisama.
Addressing media persons, captain Sumeet Puri informed that the team consists of 17 riders, including three female riders and three support staff.
The three female riders Cdr. Ratna Prabha Karle, Lt. Cdr. Lehar Singhal, Trimann Saluja also shared their experiences at the programme.
During the expedition, The Sea Riders will interact with students at various schools introducing the spirit of adventure while making them aware about the Indian Navy.
The unique partnership was aimed at motivating youth to join the Armed Forces and will conclude in Guwahati on December 15.
The expedition was conducted over two phases across seven states with each phase covering some of the toughest and most breath-taking terrains in North East India and witnessing the famous Hornbill Festival.
The expedition will be passing through the capital cities of Guwahati, Shillong, Aizawl, Imphal, Kohima riding through high Altitude Sela and BumLa Passes.
