Homoeopathy for mother, child care

Department of Ayush, Health & Family Welfare organized a one day district level orientation programme on Homoeopathy for mother and child care on Thursday at Ongpangkong Salang, Mokokchung.
The programme is part of the national campaign to create awareness among the policy makers, medical practitioners of different systems, NGOs involved in health sectors and common man on the strength and potential of homoeopathy for mother and child. Arikumba EAC (assistant) Mokokchung mentioned that homoeopathy had a definite role to play in one’s health care system not only because they are simple to administer, but because they are effective, safe and affordable.
“What is now important is to generate awareness among the general public about the effectiveness and the availability of homoeopathic treatments but due to limited infrastructural resources, outreach of the system is limited”, he said.
Further, he added that there was need for sustained and coordinated efforts both from government and private sector to exploit the benefits of homoeopathic systems of medicine.
The programme was chaired by Dr. S. S. Akaba Dy. CMO, Mokokchung and introduction to Homoeopathy by Dr. Lanuyanger MO Ayush. In the first session, Dr. N.K. Mishra, M.D (Homoeopathy) gave a power point presentation on the scope, potential, care, caution and limitation of homoeopathy in mother and child care, Dr. T. Bendangtula MO (Homoeopathy) also presented on the concept and avenue of referral strategies for integration of Homoeopathy in mother and child care.
