Hornbill Festival 2022

The 23rd Hornbill Festival, festival of festivals, commence Thursday at Naga Heritage Village, Kisama. The ten-day festival, which coincides with the Nagaland Statehood celebration, showcases the rich and vibrant culture and traditions of the people of Nagaland.
Online taxi booking service
To facilitate smooth travel of passengers during the Hornbill Festival 2022, Transport department has informed that the government identified additional 100 four-wheeler taxis and 50 two-wheeler taxis with driver’s information, registered in the Go-Taxi Service App for online taxi bookings. The department has asked passengers to avail of the facility through the Go-Taxi App available in Google Playstore, informed DIPR.
Free wi-fi service
Reliance Jio, the official media partner of the Hornbill Festival 2022, would be providing free Wifi service during the Hornbill Festival, informed DIPR report. In addition, Jio would also be providing high speed internet broadband at the Media Felicitation Centre at Kisama including dedicated line for live streaming and CCTVs for security alert at the Media Centre. Festivalgoers can access the free Wifi service by selecting “Jio Wifi” and enter their mobile number to generate OTP.
Exhibition on ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’
A multimedia exhibition on “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav”, showcasing the important events and personalities of India’s freedom struggle and the Central government’s eight years of service, good governance and welfare of poor, would be put up at World War II Museum campus, Kisama from December 1-10. According to a DIPR report, photographs would be displayed in both standard and digital mediums. The stall would also introduce an online educational game – “Azadi quest”, a patriotic puzzle game which tells the story of India’s freedom Struggle, highlighting key milestones and heroes whereby players are presented with the colourful journey of India’s independence from 1857 to 1947. The exhibition is being organised by the Central Bureau of Communication, Field Office Kohima, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, government of India.
