Ikuto calls for making Zbto as tourist destination

Zunheboto District golden Jubilee

Advisor of Land Resources, Ikuto Zhimomi on Sunday called upon the citizens of Zunheboto to leave aside the differences and envisioned in making Zunheboto a tourist destination and one of the best hill station.


However, to accomplished those, he reminded the people that they should leave aside their ego, clannism and isms, and maintain unity. Ikuto was speaking as guest of honour at the blessing service on the second day of Zunheboto District golden Jubilee celebration at Sumi Baptist Church Zunheboto, which was also attended by Dr. A. Sukhato Sema MLA as special guest.

Ikuto also recalled the creation of Zunheboto district, how Sumi elders came together during its formation by leaving aside the differences and were united, and therefore he said people must also follow the footsteps of the elders.


Dr. Sukhato in his speech drew parallels between Jerusalem and Zunheboto, pointing out that Jerusalem was the centre of the world and Zunheboto the centre of Nagaland.
He highlighted how the neighbouring districts were growing in many aspects and urged the citizens of Zunheboto to give their best and provide space for growth.
He also called upon the citizens to focus on quality education, health infrastructure and economic growth.


Delivering key note address, Sumi Hoho president, I Nikheto Jimomi said that aligning to Ahuna, the post-harvest celebration, Sumi Hoho has declared the day as Sumi Prayer Day.
He further urged the Sumis to honour auspicious celebration like these with cultural attires.
Earlier the program was chaired by Sumi Hoho general secretary, Dr. Vihuto Asümi began with an invocation by Asst. astor ZTSBC, Vihokhu Jimo.


Highlights of the programme included special song by ZTSBC choir and SBCZ choir, Dr. Hutton Sumi pastor SBCZ delivered the message and benediction by Kughavi Chishi pastor NCRC Zunheboto. This was stated in a press release issued by media cell of organising committee.
