A day-long Inner Line Permit (ILP) verification drive was carried out in and around Kohima town on May 16, 2023 consisting of five teams from district administration and police to detect illegal immigrants and ILP defaulters.
According to a DIPR report, during verification, cases of ILP with expiry date and some without valid pass were detected and accordingly penalties were imposed.
A total of 325 ILP defaulters were detected and after verification of all required documents a total amount of Rs 1,20,000 was realized as penalty, which would be deposited as government revenue.
The special task force (STF) constituted for ILP verification would be conducting periodic checking for detection of illegal immigrants and ILP defaulters.
