IMD issues weather update

After the North Eastern region faced intense rainfall activity, which resulted in several states recording above-average pre-monsoon precipitation, the wet spell has finally dipped in terms of intensity and distribution. However, not-so-intense showers are expected to continue over Northeast, IMD reports stated.
According to IMD, a cyclonic circulation over Northeast India will dump scattered to fairly widespread rains of light to moderate intensity across Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim for the next five days.
Meanwhile, Meteorological Office, Dimapur in its weather update (from May 25 to May 29), said that scattered to fairly widespread rain and thunder storm with lightning is expected at several places across the State during the period.
